Maisa Mreiwed

Artist Statement

My artwork shows that we are all interconnected with the water, earth, and sky. When we damage one part, the others will also suffer. Each living being in my collection represents this interconnection and the importance of protecting our oceans, marine life, sky, land, and all living beings for there to be a better tomorrow.

Maisa Mreiwed

Maisa Mreiwed is a Syrian Canadian artist with a Master's in Art Education. Her artwork has been exhibited in Canada and abroad. Her work was featured on the book cover of Art as an Agent for Social Change (2020). Her current project examines storytelling through textiles.
