International Printmaking:
Artistic Vision, Poetic voice
Curated by Bill Zuk and Jenn Robins, British Columbia, Canada
Exhibition Description
Art gains a special significance and magical power when it flows from the insights, passions, and creative discoveries of dedicated professionals. This exhibition celebrates new processes and inventions of artists from Canada, Great Britain, India, Japan and the United States, who bring the art of the print to a new and elevated level. The images move from the pure elegance of abstract beauty to realism, all with an uncanny sense of imagination. Their compelling artwork builds and revitalizes printmaking traditions.
Included in this exhibition are poetic responses to the artwork by some of the printmakers, as well as responses by invited poets. Through bringing together a rich variety of thoughts and perspectives, this exhibition makes a unique contribution to the field of printmaking, poetry (ekphrasis), and the world of art.
